dbForge Studio for SQL Server and SQL Tools Released with Numerous New Features

Devart’s entire product line for SQL Server has been updated. The release includes several significant improvements. The biggest feature of the set is the new T-SQL Code Analyzer that helps users level up the quality of their code.

Devart has released an update for dbForge Studio for SQL Server (v.7.0) and dbForge SQL Tools (v.7.0). The update introduces the following:

  • T-SQL Code Analyzer — dbForge SQL Complete has been enhanced with a comprehensive tool that helps developers and DBAs scrutinize and optimize T-SQL scripts, ensuring they conform to precisely defined rules, guidelines, and best practices
  • Connectivity — native support for ApsaraDB has been implemented
  • DevOps & CLI Automation — dbForge DevOps Automation for SQL Server is now fully compatible with the Data Center, and there are a few new automation features (Find Invalid Objects in dbForge SQL Complete, Save Command Line in dbForge Index Manager, and automated generation of comparison reports in dbForge Data Compare, dbForge Schema Compare, and dbForge Studio)
  • Code Completion — there is a new set of handy code prompting enhancements (suggestions of non-aggregated columns in GROUP BY statements, viewing of the MSDescription property, support for T-SQL graph functions, COLUMN MASTER KEY, and a few other statements and functions)
  • Schema Compare — new features and enhancements include an option called Show Ignored Differences, support for ADD SENSITIVITY CLASSIFICATION, a new page in the Synchronization Wizard called Issues, and several other options)
  • Source Control — a few useful enhancements have been added, including support for XML and HASH indexes for Azure, support for PERSISTED, and a new Hide empty columns button in the static data diff grid)
  • Database Diagrams — the design has been updated, featuring new element skins, opacity controls, and linear zoom factor; additionally, there are new options called Select All Relations and Clear Waypoints
  • SQL Query History — the toolbar has been redesigned with an updated date range selection and a new Clear button
  • Documents — new customization options include Tab layout, Show tabs in multiple rows, and Close tabs with middle-click.
  • Database Explorer — there is a new ability to save object filter settings to a file and a new option called Drop destination object
  • Data Generator — Data Population Wizard now has a new option that appends a timestamp to the name of the file
  • Script Generation — the Studio automatically wraps CRUD templates into named regions; additionally, there are new options to include DML triggers, security permissions, and authorization in scripts
  • Data Editor — there is a new option to quickly set a cell value to a unique identifier
  • Pivot Tables — Chart Designer has been upgraded
  • Find Invalid Objects — there is a new option to quickly Check All/Uncheck All databases
  • Search — it is now possible to export search results to CSV
  • Index Manager — the standard shortcut menu has been added
  • Application Startup Time — it is now possible to check the actual time it took the Studio to start
